Four Perfect Vintage Outfits for Fall
We’re excited, guys—with September comes the first whispers of true layering potential. A month rife with possibility much grander than the cardigan reserved for AC chills or the broken-in sweatshirt you throw on to ward off mosquitos. And to be honest, in our minds there is maybe nothing better than a perfect vintage coat to seal the deal on our OOTD. Below, we’ve built four perfect looks to wear this month that come completely from our vintage department (well, save the shoes). Snag these pieces while they’re still available or shop our entire vintage collection to creak an autumnal lewk of your own!
A Little Punk
Emprace the ’80s this autumn and employ a few key looks of the decade in one perfect’ fit. Start by tucking a vintage t-shirt like this one into a pair of mom jeans. Drape a color-coordinated ’80s sweater over your shoulders old-man style or tie it around your waist. Top of the look with our white heeled utility boots to give the outfit a bit of a kick.
With corduroy being all the rage this season, use the fabric as a base for an outfit centered on the idea of mixing patterns. Start with a pair of pants like this pair of deadstock Woolrich corduroy pants and add a striped turtleneck. Feel free to stop here, if you want—the vertical vs. horizontal stripes of your top and bottom already make for a good look. If you’re chilly, layer on a lightweight jacket like this quilted vintage one. Keep the shoes subtle on this one!
While we all have our feelings about athleisure, have you ever thought about giving the trend a vintage twist? There’s nothing that shouts “I’m cool!” quite like a vintage sweatshirt, and a short-sleeved one like this San Francisco Sweatshirt would work perfectly when layered under a vintage denim jacket. For bottoms, grab a pair of vintage track pants (like these Wilson ones!) and add a pair of coordinating boots to top off the look. Our Pastel Pink Work Boots might just do the trick.
