Sneakerheads have quite the reputation for spending absurd amounts of money on their shoe collection. Only the brave would dare try to tackle the inhumanely priced shoes on this list. We’ve compiled the most expensive sneakers with the most interesting look and backstory. Some of these shoes got their high price tag for being owned by famous people, being a part of an extremely limited release, or created for a unique collaboration. Others cost 2 million dollars for being made out of solid gold. Like I said, only the brave.

Nike X MSCHF Air Max 97 Jesus Shoes – Walk on Water

According to Hypebeast.com, “The pair have been filled with 60cc of water that was originally sourced from the River Jordan andthen blessed, meaning wearers are able to, theoretically, walk on Holy Water. MSCHF continues its biblical references with a nod to The Vatican, who is known for their intricate jewels and traditional red shoes. As a result, the customized pair features red insoles that have been scented with Frankenscence in reference to this, and include a steel crucifix on the shoelaces, Matthew 14:25 inscription on the toe box, and an all-round muted water-themed colorway with red accents.”

Michael Jordan’s Game-worn Converse All Stars $18,000According to Hypebeast.com, “Worn by Jordan during the University of North Carolina’s 1982 NCAA Championship season, the Tar Heel colored shoes are currently the earliest of Jordan’s shoes to ever be up for auction.
